Redefining "Conservative"
Commentary
(Written for the July issue newsletter of the Oregon Republican Assembly)
Just as American history has been revised by liberals and anti-American factions, anti-Chritian and pro-homosexual forces have set about redefining "conservative."
In order to accomplish this morality must be redefined also and those who represent the voices of morality like Dr. James Dobson, must be discredited.
This is imperative in the effort to kill the "Reagan Era" successes and everything the word "conservative" has traditionaly stood for.
Some of those doing the redefining are openly homosexual and lesbian authors who claim the conservative mantel.
Lesbian Tammy Bruce has successfully hijacked conservative thinking with much of her writing on how conservative she is, yet remains an open lesbian.
Now homosexual Andrew Sullivan continues to do his part to make sure the term doesn't exclude the notion that homosexuality is immoral.
His new book aims directly at a redefinition of "conservative." Entitled The Conservative Soul (something Sullivan does not have) it is scheduled to come out in September. Hawking the book has begun in earnest and included a C-Span debate with fellow liberals like Ariana Huffington and Frank Rich. They debated against a lone conservative on the panel; Pat Buchanan.
On the May 20th debate, which can still be viewed on the
C-Span web site,
Buchanan endures ridicule of Christian conservative principles and how they are destroying the GOP. Wrong it is, says Huffington, that the Christians willfully focus on issues like homosexuality and abortion. They are the dividers of the party. She wants them gone. She thinks Sullivan should stay. He’s perfect. He has an “R” and a “C” after his name , but is too sensible to act like it.
Sullivan made it clear that Christian icons are dangerous and not part of conservatism. He says Christian fundamentalism and Muslim fundamentalism are no different. Both need to be out of conservatism. Huffington & Sullivan say Christians have hijacked the conservative movement. Sullivan takes comfort, he says, in the fact that Christian leaders are old, like Dobson and Falwell. He sees them as passé with no young replacements.
All of the panelists have books coming out in Sept. Buchanan’s book is: — State of Emergency , How Illegal Immigration Is Destroying America.

The very name of the organization & web site lets people know what nasty dividers those Republicans are who disagree with the same-sex-rights agenda.
Start feeling guilty. You who have computers, go see a list of the senators and GOP leaders who think that's how you should feel.
