"A moderate by definition is one of three things; somebody who sits around and waits for a majority to form and then joins it, a conservative who is pro-choice, or a liberal."

- Dick Hughes of the Statesman Journal: Good Candidates Were Barred from Governor's Debate. Morley, the Libertarian candidate, likely knows more about finance — state government’s central issue — than any other candidate. A retired auditor, he ran performance audits for the Oregon Secretary of State’s Office....Mary Starrett, the Constitution Party candidate, is refreshing as well. She doesn’t equivocate. She’s consistent in what she believes in, starting with her staunch opposition to abortion. You have to admire that steadfastness, even if you disagree with her...That’s the kind of candidate whom everyday Oregonians can relate to.

(Portland Tribune) [The OR Conservative has no problem with what Saxton did. It has never been right to force anyone to go to a lesser school because of where they live. The gov't has no right to force people to purchase a bad product with their own money. Taxes are the people's own money. Parents have a right to choose the best school for their kids. Saxton has far more serious faults than doing what is best for his son. This shouldn't even be an issue.]
