"A moderate by definition is one of three things; somebody who sits around and waits for a majority to form and then joins it, a conservative who is pro-choice, or a liberal." -- Rush Limbaugh, June 5, 2001

Oregon News:

12 PM, May 10, 2006 -- The Oregon Conservative just received the pro-Ron Saxton phone call from Tim Nashif, head of the Oregon Family Council. He ends his speech by saying he decided to do more than use his vote "to make a statement."

Well, Nashif DID make a statement by endorsing Saxton. Like Lars Larson, he has made it clear that it doesn't matter what Saxton has done in the past. It doesn't matter that Saxton is not the real Republican. He has said that he regrets having to tell the truth in his very own voter guides and that people should ignore the information which proves Saxton is the least Republican candidate. He has said it is more important to win than to direct people to who is the best candidate. Once again he is using his organization to endorse a candidate who doesn't stand for the principles upon which his own organization is supposed to stand. He has said he is a hypocrite. His statement is loud and clear.

Remember the comedian Tim Conway and his "It don't matter routine?" Well, whenever you hear information about Ron Saxton's past (none of which can be refuted by ANY media) you just hear Tim Conway's voice saying "It don't matter."

Of course, you shouldn't apply the same rule to Kevin Mannix or Jason Atkinson. This is reserved for Saxton. As Jeff Kropf said on his talk show, "Can't a person change?" The answer is yes, and they sure do before an election ALL THE TIME. Pre-election epiphanies are a dime-a-dozen and Saxton is aiming for a dozen in this election alone. But, remember IT DON'T MATTER! It is the disingenuous candidate who can win, so go with the flow and elect the chameleon.

To hell with principles over politics. Ignore the Oregon Family Council guide information and go instead with the endorsement of its leader Tim Nashif and vote for the same old fake Gordon Smith-style Republican the OFC has been hawking to Christians all along.
(See Oregon Conservatives, Part III .   Oodles of links to prove what the OFC has done and how far back they've known the truth.

In the event of a Saxton win; when Saxton does his switch back to who he has always been, Larson will have to swallow a lot. There will be more lovely surprises if he becomes governor as liberal Republicans like Bob Packwood make themselves more visible as the face of the old anti-Goldwater GOP. When Larson finally admits what Saxton really is, just remind him, "It don't matter." No matter what Saxton does, It don't matter. That's the rule. Live with it.
