When talking with neighbors about my having to deal with two prowlers in two consecutive mornings between 3:00 and 4:00 AM and explaining my finding them late teenage males just shopping the neighborhoods for whatever they can find, one went on to suggest, "why don't these kids just go out get jobs like we did?"
I then responded with, "many can't find jobs as Illegal Aliens now consume
most of the employment opportunity that we enjoyed when young."
That was followed with another telling how a grandson is now working at the same cannery where she had once benefited, however things have changed.
She explained how he is the only Non-Spanish Speaking person on the floor and how he is not only being treated badly by the Hispanics but they often take the equipment he has been assigned (hard hat, gloves etc.) and either hide it or throw them away when he is not working. Replacements of these he must purchase if he can't provide extremely worn items to exchange.
Her grandson has complained to the supervisor about the harassment and poor treatment and was told to ignore them and not to become intimidated.
But his question to his grandmother is, how much garbage is he supposed to take? |

One of the forces driving the need for Pay-Day Loans is that Illegal Aliens are forcing wages down, and as a result many US Citizens are now finding themselves struggling along from pay-check to pay-check.
The house payment that was affordable a few years ago has now become a burden that is more often unachievable.
This is not much of any concern for those in the middle and upper income brackets, but its devastating for those who once made up our Blue Collar work force that in recent years has become . . . Brown. |

A neighbor reports having been in a car accident the other day when riding with a friend. It was the old rear-ender that happened when they were slowing for a red light.
She explains it was quite a jolt but nothing horrific. However, with prodding by the Medics who responded to the scene she did mention having a slight soreness in her neck muscles but nothing of any major concern.
Well now, that comment qualified her to be strapped to a back-board with a neck brace and off to the Hospital she went. Her "no thanks" was not an acceptable answer.
Two hours later and now with a heavy ER tab in her name, she was kicked loose and told that she was just fine.
But that is what she tried to tell the Medics. |

Well now, I just ran across a Public Access TV piece of a recent Town Hall
Meeting held here in Salem by our Senator Gordon Smith.
Golly, that was a surprise as I don't see any mention of that in his June or July
Press Releases. Curious? Invitation only perhaps of friendly faces only in an
effort to keep the many angry citizens from mucking up the works? I'll bet
he has had enough of that!
http://gsmith.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?FuseAction=PressReleases.Home
I saw the Salem City Council chamber was pretty well filled with State, County
and City elected officials, Educators, and interestingly enough a small group
of folks that I assume were there to represent the Hispanic community.
I did tune in late and caught the tail end of discussions of Meth and how that
is a problem and how it was agreed as usual that Education was the key to
success and that included government programs to Teach Bad Parents how to
be Good Parents. Do you suppose they will be Bilingual?
Oh yes, Education has done a great job to date, hasn't it?
The questions addressed to Sen. Smith were softballs from a Commissioner, a
School Superintendent, a Family Court Judge and two Hispanic's who didn't
really grasp the questions they asked (in their broken English) as if they had
been coached in the exercise. Would they do that?
Sen. Smith gave out a few atta-boys for some having kept the faith and playing
the Government Game, and it was a wrap! El Gordo had fulfilled his Town Hall
task and now its back to living behind the community gate.
I would call the meeting a "White Wash" but then I would offend somebody.
My hope is to catch a re-broadcast but that may a bit difficult as the CCTV
schedule is published in the Statesman/Journal, however it only shows the time
slot today as "Bulletin Board" as it does for much of the programming.
If I later find my interpretation of the events in error I will advise via a similar
e-mailing. However, please don't lose any sleep waiting for that.

I'm walking into Walgreen's just as two women are walking out the Exit
Door in close proximity when sure enough the Alarm went off with a loud
Beep, Beep Beep!
Upon hearing the alarm the second woman exiting stopped short, spun
around and returned to the cashier station where it was found she had
receipts for all her purchases.
The cashier was most apologetic and told the shopper how unreliable the
door guards have been.
However, the first woman was long gone and the Clerks didn't see or even
look for a second shopper.
That reminds me of a few years back when I watched as a group of Hispanic
shoppers waited just inside the metal detectors and then exited by joining
with a larger group of non-Hispanic's and they all just kept walking when
the alarm went off.
It was obvious the retailers didn't want to hassle the Gringo's and/or risk
being accused of Racial Profiling.

Today when Lars was talking with the Mayor of Springfield, Oregon about
the city Councilman Dave Ralston, who had the courage to speak out about
the Illegal Alien problem, the Mayor added a bit of news he found exciting.
That was how the City had just been awarded a Federal Grant to expand the
local transit system and what a wonderful asset it will be in development of
their new Industrial Park that he believes will employ 10,000 new workers in
the coming years.
10,000 new workers, doing what I ask? Warehousing imports from Mexico
and China?
Perhaps they might use Sewer Plant Sludge to grow greenhouse Pot in the
vacant CD manufacturing plant Springfield built for SONY?
Hey, the methane gas can help power the grow lights and the Pot will be
burned anyway, right. No mad cow fear here! |

As I understood what was explained on Lars show Monday, by a Executive
with Oregon's Department of Human Services:
There are so many people using another's SSN falsely, DHS no longer uses
a them as a method of identification and create Client Account numbers for
use in tracking the individuals.
In other words, so many people have applied to DHS for Tax Funded Social
Services, using the same SSN they were not able keep them all straight.
Is that a clue or what? |

Police seek men in robbery stop
July 16, 2006
A Woodburn man was robbed and his car was stolen Friday night in a rural area about a mile north of the Woodburn interchange, the Marion County Sheriff's Office said.
Deputies were called about 8:30 p.m. to Butteville and Crosby Roads NE, said Sgt. Gerry Adcock. They took a report from a 28-year-old man who said two or three Latino men flagged him down, and he pulled over.
ne of the suspects presented a badge and stated that they were police officers. The suspects bound the man and stole his wallet and Honda Civic, Adcock said.
The man was able to free himself and call 911. His car was recovered.
The suspects were driving a newer model, maroon Ford Taurus with tinted windows and California plates, Adcock said.
Anyone with information should call detective Mike Myers at (503) 540-8096.

One thing is certain in Northeast Salem!
When citizens call 911 and report "shots fired in the area", they are seldom mistakenly reporting fireworks, as in that part of town most people know the difference.
Perhaps they teach that in Diversity Training.

Subject: in case you never read those EULA agreements...
I heard, some time back, that Real Networks (RealPlayer) was a bad guy... here's why:
"A reader was recently trying to watch a short movie snippet at an online site and found himself directed to download the latest RealOne Player. “All I wanted to do was see this movie snippet, but I wasn’t able to play it – I guess my Real Player was out of date,” the reader wrote. “So I went searching for the free Real Player, which I knew was supposed to be out there. I found it, did the download and start the install. Up pops the license.”
At first the reader thought the RealOne license was just the normal disclaimers and thou-shalt-not’s, but then he came upon this in the Automatic Communications Features section:
A number of communications features are automatic and are enabled by default. By installing and/or using the Software, you consent to the Software's communications features. Once you log into the Software, user information including your user id will be sent in communications with RN's servers. This information is used to access your regular account, premium content, non-premium content, services, features, and other personalized services. RN may match the user id to personally identifiable information in order to provide you with products, services, and software that you're entitled to and to provide you with relevant information. You are responsible for any telecommunications or other connectivity charges incurred through use of the Software.
After reading that and all the things RealNetworks and third parties could do with DRM, the reader decided it just wasn’t worth it. “Guess I never will know what was on those movie clips I wanted to see,” write the reader. “ If providers of content intend to use products to encode their content in ways that violate my privacy, then I guess the sponsors of those sites will not get my business.”
So, once again, let me say this about that: If you have Real Player on your machine, it would be a Good Idea to get rid of all traces of it. |

Yes, things have quieted in Salem which has allowed things to become even more quite.
In what I suspect is an effort to reduce the negative impact on Retail Business, as a result of negative news reporting, Salem Police Department is now using their Mobile Display Terminals (computer screens mounted in the vehicles) more frequently in dispatching Officers to 911 calls for help.
They are using radio transmissions for alerting specific Officers to text specific messages being sent out (via MDT) so they might read the text and respond accordingly.
(This is all well and swell providing the MDT's have not frozen or otherwise become non-functional, which is all to often the case.)
Not only does this help keep the criminal element from knowing the where-abouts of Officers (press # for Spanish) and to what they are responding, but it also help keeps the public and news media un-aware of certain situations.
I can see the value of this method of dispatching. However, the time delay in using the typed messages in place of a more traditional Voice direction, does create some concern as to whether the change is worth the time loss?
Just as it did today when at 5:09 AM I discovered three dark haired, and un-known persons who were arguing and then pushing and shoving and cursing each other at the entry of my driveway and that causing myself and others in the neighborhood to call 911.
Please know I find the calls to Fight gatherings of 50 or more people are yet being sent out over the Radio. We wouldn't want any un-aware Officer (with a dead or malfunctioning MDT) to innocently wander into one of those fests, now would we?
Best I can figure is the dispute this AM was over Prowling Territories. |

Just do like Mom and Dad! Hey, I was wrong about the Hispanic male who beat-up a Hispanic female in Woodburn and then drove off with his wife and kids in the car.
No, it was Mommy who stopped to beat-up another female (both Hispanic) and it was she (Mom) that drove away with Dad and the kids in the car.
Go figure!
Now, consider the taxpayer expense to cover the medical and attorney costs of both parties.
Next, consider the costs to taxpayers when the kids grow up and behave in the same way as Mom and Dad.
Its Cultural you know. We are to blindly embrace it! |

Just do like Mom and Dad!!
Last week we enjoyed the situation in Woodburn where an adult Hispanic male driver hit a Gringo lad who was riding his bicycle and then the driver left the scene without stopping. I recall it was a dark colored import sedan.
The boy was just bruised but his bike was pretty well crushed.
The twist is the driver had an adult Hispanic female in the passenger seat (mom) and two young children (the kids) in the back seat. Just out for a family drive or a quick trip to Wal-Mart?
Tonight, Woodburn Police are looking for another Hispanic adult male who severely beat a Hispanic female and left her battered and bloody in a church parking lot. Hey, its not criminal, its cultural!
The twist here is the Hispanic male who did the beating came to and left the scene in a black, Chevy blazer type vehicle, that was driven by an Hispanic female (mom) and again with two small children (the kids) in the back seat.
Perhaps its time we embrace a new Culturally Correct phrase? The family ... that Slays together ... Stays together! |

Warning: Fireworks can be Dangerous! Wrong, Fireworks are Dangerous as that is their purpose.
Experimenting with Danger is a Natural Human Behavior that is especially common with youth. Its all part of the Learning Process!
When as a child, having the opportunity to burn a finger, bruise a hand, sometimes start a small controllable fire or on occasion suffer a greater harm while being supervised by an adult, is preferable than in later years having them obtain Illegal Fireworks and as a result of their Ignorance burn down an apartment building and kill numerous people, all the while attempting to conceal their Illegal activity.
I believe that driving the use of Fireworks underground has resulted in more loss of life, limb and property that was ever saved.
