Anchor Baby Benefits!
Dropped in my favorite (the cleanest) Mexican Restaurant (Los Horrendous) last evening and found the reception/wait staff there better able to speak English than ever before.
No language Issues (problemas) we habla Englasia.
Thanks to our School System we have a new crop of Bi-lingual service workers who have gone on to improve my dining experience. Money well spent!
What can we expect next, perhaps a more consistent potting soil mix with the workers now being able to read the government approved blending formula? |

Statesman Journal publisher Sonja Sorensen Craig announced today she will retire as head of the Salem-based Gannett newspaper in March 2007.
Imagine a career working in a capacity that I find best compared to a hose on a vacuum cleaner where the only demand is you remain flexible and suck-up everything you are fed without consideration. |

Thurston County Jail,
accused of committing a hate crime
against an African-American man at the Viking Lounge.
I'm still waiting to hear what happens to the four Black Girls that beat and robbed two white girls last week at Lloyd Center and selected them simply because they were not-Black.
Lucky for me I'm not betting on it. |

A New Catalog!
Just got one in the mail yesterday and its full of Men's and Women's clothing offerings and all targeted to the young adult population.
What I noticed about the Men's offerings was the new rough-cut look with fabric and material borrowed from construction worker clothing.
Somehow I think if I owned a jacket similar to one illustrated I might be inclined to fight a house fire or save a young child from a landslide.
You know, rough and ready Heroes have an image to maintain.
Another point was how the pictures of all the Men's clothing showed a good amount of Wrinkling and Creasing and the uniformity of that over the pieces reveals it was intentionally staged to give the clothing a Rough Cut, Manly appearance.
I have little doubt, that somewhere out there is a Wife following those illustrations in infinate detail in her effort of Ironing-In Wrinkles and Creases into her husbands clothing so as to capture the look of a . . . New-Age-Man. |

Never say it doesn't pay to send news tips to TV stations as Kerry T. quoted every Mexican News Forwarding I have ever sent them right down to the be-heading of people and their heads being dumped on a dance floor. What she left out was it happened at a popular Acapulco night club and intended to scare the tourists.

Sunday morning seems to be a popular time for some of the "
Local Boys " to gather at the gym and faint workouts in their constant effort to meet new friends and . . . Chat! Gag puke!
This AM a couple was telling others how they enjoy going to theaters to watch Spanish Language ONLY films, even though neither of them understand a word being said.
They see it as an out-reach to Embrace others of a different culture and find being immersed with 100% Spanish speakers better allows them to appreciate the artistry of the film making and the visual presentation.
I wonder if they stick around for the Post Movie Gang Fight? |

Saturday, January 20, 2007 I don't go around claiming to be any kind of a "Sensitive Guy" but there has been a change in a product which I have become intimately familiar with and I must admit that change has been duly noted!
Again as its been for so many years here in the US, product quality has been sacrificed for the Bottom line . . . but who would expect that from our close friends at Charmin !

Once upon a time!
It was that when in need of a Roller Track (long piece of metal channel) used with Bi-Fold doors (in laundry room & other closet door needs) one could purchase just that item separately.
However, today even though the manufacturer still produces the Track you can only buy the complete Bi-Fold Door Hardware Kit that includes the Track . . . and it all comes in a Big and much more expensive Box.
But then, today you can only buy that type of item from a Big Box store as the little guy who once sold the Tracks separately . . . is History!
Guess I should feel good knowing the top dog from Home Depot lost his job recently. They fired him!
I hear he did receive a $200 Million severance package as a going away present. That for helping HD score some big incomes which is said to have mostly resulted from him cutting staff levels to a bare minimum, (killing customer service) making changes in merchandising selections such as Bi-fold door hardware options and leaving customers to buy more than they needed.
Kill the competition and charge more! Sound's like pure Cramer to me. |

Advantage Criminal!
Early AM the Police are all set to move in on a particular residence and everybody swings into action on the count.
Later they report having a person in custody and they are in need of medical help for someone suffering numerous dog bites. Get your Visa card ready!!
Then as they were relaxing the perimeter the word came out that all reports should include explanations as to why they had come to be aware of the circumstance that lead them to being in the area and that resulting in the preceding activity.
In other words, cover your ass as there will likely be claims of Racial profiling and harassment. Need that in Spanish?
Just as a Public Works Contractor looks for typographical errors such as in Bid Specifications where on page 246, paragraph three, the often repeated 6 ft. elevation was incorrectly shown as 9 ft. and how that allowed them to under bid the work and later win a multi-million dollar lawsuit (more than compensating for the initial low-bid loss) and all that based on the one point in error.
It also helps if the Contractor's sister-in-law Partner is a Minority person who just as the Dog Bite victim will have the ACLU to help them up in finding the "little Flaws & Omissions" on which to base . . . a Million Dollar claim. |

I like it!
Rather than import more Illegal Aliens, lets make use of all those US citizens who have avoided fulfilling a criminal sentence because our Jails and/or Prison are overflowing. Mostly with Illegal Aliens.
If we are going to have our own criminals walking free the least we can do is allow them to work off convictions while learning a Farm trade.
Why not an Outdoor School for Criminals! |

Beware those who want us to believe (and become complacent with) the idea that Obama is a serious 2008 contender, the Demos are in disarray, they lack a plan and that Hillary is not poised to enter the race when in the Home stretch.
We are to assume that many who are involved with our Governments and those who develop 10, 30, 50 and 100 year plans (that we Sheeple are to follow without question) are not equally prepared politically to achieve all those goals?

Headline: Police try to reason with E. Ore. gang members by sending them letters...
Why not include a few Blank Arrest Warrants they can fill out (with using some of their better aliases) in advance.
Then pay them a $100. cash every time they deliver completed forms when they are apprehended for a crime, as that would save the Police Agency valuable time by minimizing those road-side Name Games. |

Salem Chamber of Commerce luncheon
Monday, Jan 8th, 2007
The Guest speaker was Michael Irwin, Federal Security Director, Oregon U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
That should be a Hot meeting!
Watching a CCTV tape of the event at closing, I noted what seemed a chill in the air at the end of his talk and how there were barely a few questions from the audience.
I found this curious with knowing how the Salem area is greatly troubled with the influx of Illegal Immigrants. I had expected more than a few questions be asked about that fast growing concern as how that related to his discussing fraudulent documents commonly being used to enter the US.
Perhaps it was the event that day had been Hosted George Puentes, owner of Salem's "Don Pancho Authentic Mexican Foods" and he was standing (with his traditional Big grin) next to the podium at the closing of the meeting.
Now, doesn't it seem strange that everybody's Good Buddy George was given the opportunity to host that specific event, knowing that Illegal Alien problems might be discussed? How embarrassing that could have been for George. To the best of my knowledge (and lucky for him) no such questions were raised!
The Chamber, what a cordial, pleasant and respectful group they are with nary a critical word! |

How is your Neighborhood doing?
Taco Trucks = One sure Sign of Decline
That's what gave me pause the other day with spotting one of those Tomaine Transports spending a few days on a local Mini-Market parking lot. Oh oh!
But now I see that it has not returned for well over a week. Olay!!
Perhaps its the Cold Weather?
But then, all those greasy-black hand prints around all the door handles might have turned the trick.

The delivery guys from Lowe's were in the
neighborhood . . . again today.
Just as last week when they were here to deliver a new Washer/Dryer pair to a customer/neighbor. Fact is its the same customer, however it seems this time someone took Laundry Room size into consideration as what good are Washer and Dryers if you can't open the laundry room door.
Yep, they delivery guys had taken the two units into the residence and then discovered that neither would fit. Tape measure anyone?
So the sales clerk blew it with not asking that all important question of space available, especially when selling the New Godzilla sized units that are popular today. Is that a NASA capsule?
So, again I watched as these two Lowe's employees fumbled with the second set and spent nearly two hours carrying them in and hooking them up.
Please note: They had taken the old units away last week on the earlier install attempt and the units today had been un-boxed and prepared to connect with hoses and electrical cords attached. This should have been a twenty minute job.
Reminds me of the Old Days of the Little Box Stores when employees knew what they were doing and time lost to incompetence was minimal. |

NYC hit by gas smell, mayor says not dangerous
This reminds me of some years back when a good part of Downtown Portland was being evacuated because of similar Natural Gas Smell Complaints.
Later it was found a compressed bottle of the Odorant used in Natural Gas and being kept in a car trunk (salesman's sample) had begun leaking. He was staying in the Benson as I recall.
This baffled everybody as the gas detectors failed to sense any presence of an explosive component yet the Odor of Gas was quite strong.
As I recall its basically a mix of Garlic, Onion and perhaps something else. Its not April Fools Day, is it? |

Look what we find in China News,

Not a word of this in any News I have found here in the US.

Finally, a news group has shown the Courage to Break the Code and spill the beans about the Mexican Threat that is eating away at our society and culture.
The only flaw is they didn't tell more about Mexican Gang Power here in the US, as we are already losing the War on Drugs and our jail rosters and Police Radios are proof of that.
A good watch anyway, unless you condone the crime and violence and that includes dumping of new-born children in back yards (Woodburn, OR December 2006) and that in exchange for cheap Labor and lots of Drugs. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Meth Violence Could Spill Over
